Two people have been arrested following an inci- dent in which shots were fired at an Oakville home on Saturday, July 30. Police say that at around 3:50 p.m., on July 30 a Honda CRV, later deter- mined to have been stolen, approached a residence on Hilda Drive. Police allege that while a woman waited in the ve- hicle a man got out and was seen "firing several rounds" towards the home. According to police, the male suspect then got back in the vehicle and fled the area. Investigators believe that approximately 10 rounds struck the front of the residence, causing damage to the front door and windows. On Aug. 2, the Honda CRV believed to have been used during the shooting was located by York Re- gional Police at a motel in Vaughan. Halton police attended and arrested two people as they entered the vehicle. Police emphasize that at this time the two individu- als arrested have not been charged in connection with the July 30 shooting. A 20-year-old man from North York and a 19-year- old woman from London have each been charged with possession of proper- ty obtained by crime over $5,000. The man has also been charged with failing to comply with a release or- der. He is being held pending a bail hearing. The woman has since been released. None of the charges have been proven in court. Police said they are still actively investigating the July 30 shooting and are asking anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the shooting to check dash cam or CCTV footage. Anyone with informa- tion regarding this investi- gation is asked to contact Halton police at 905-825- 4777 ext. 2216 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.haltoncrim- estoppers.ca.
