BRYAN'S REVIEW OF OAKVILLE 11 A Masonic Hall for Oakville is also one of the new build ings to be erected early in 1924. In the surrounding district of Oakville building oper at ions are exceedingly active. Just north of the town a new arena for the training and stabling of horses-re placing one recently destroyed by fire, is almost com pleted, being one of the largest and best equipped arenas 111 Ontar io . PROPOSED PARISH HALL, ST. JUDE'S CHURCH If you think well of your town, speak about it and write about it. Invite your friends from the city occasionally to stay with you for a day. There is going to be quite an influx of new comers soon-the movement already has begun. See to it they are made welcome. In order to induce new comers into your midst, make the town even more attractive than it is. INDUSTRIES OF OAKVILLE The principal industries of Oakville, all of which are particularly active at this time, are the following: Marlatt & Armstrong; Tanners, Leathers. Oakville Basket & Vineer Co.; Fruit Baskets. Oak Tire & Rubber Co.: Automobile Tires. Langmuir Mfg. Co.; Stains and Varnishes. Aluminum Ware Mfg. Co.; Kitchen Utensils. Geo. B. Jacobs; Jams and Jellies. T. H. Ashby & Sons; Flour Mill. Trafalgar Lumber Co.; Builders' Supplies. Davis and Doty; Builders' Supplies. Blakelock Bros.; Builders' Supplies. Besides the above, there are several smaller industries, such as the following: Capt. Andrews; Boat Builder : Strahan Handle Co . : S. Patterson and Co . ; Cider Mill. The presence of such industries as above enumerated, and forming as they do an important factor in the life of the town, are not, however, in any one instance, objection able to the residents of Oakville, many of whom find lucra tive and steady employment therein.
