BRYAN'S REVIEW OF OAKVILLE 15 • In the matter of paved s treets , concrete sidewalks, sewers and watermains , Oakvil le probably has a greater mileage than any town of similar size in Ontario. Oak­ ville owns and controls its own Water Works and Electric Light and Power Plant and in both instances possesses a thoroughly equipped and up-to-date system for municipal requirements. So far as parks and play grounds are concerned the Chairman of which is Mr. Jas . N. McGregor. The Town Authorities have provided ample space for years to come -amid surroundings very picturesque and attractive. FIRE PROTECTION Fire protection in Oakville for all purposes is a fea­ ture of the town's activities, possess ing a good fire hall and an equipment quite up to the best found anywhere for a place like Oakville, bes ides being efficiently officered in the person of Mr. Alf Hillmer, the Chief, who is also the President of the Provincial Fireman's Association.
