The criteria for the consideration of minor Zoning By-law Amendments will also be examined and discussed. The Official Plan Amendments would apply to all lands within the Town of Halton Hills. The Official Plan 1 would i changes that have been made to the Planning Act resulting from Bill 13, Supporting People and Businesses Act, 2021. Bill 13 enables Town Council to delegate authority to pass by-laws that are minor in nature under section 34 of the Planning Act to a committee of Council, or an individual who is an officer, employee or agent of the lity, through a del of powers and duties by-law, provided enabling Official Plan policy is in place. The proposed Official Plan Amendments will enable Council to delegate the authority to pass by-laws under section 34 of the Planning Act to remove holding “H” symbols (Holding Removal By-laws), authorize the temporary use of land, buildings or structures (Temporary Use By-laws), and pass minor Zoning By-law Amendments subject to certain criteria being met, to an individual who is an officer or employee of the Town (e.g., Commissioner of Planning & Development). Please note: the Council Meeting will commence at 6 p.m. but there may be other preceding items which could impact the 6 p.m. start time for this Public Meeting.
