ew principal at Harrison Public School Harrison Public School in Georgetown has a new principal. Mrs. Milree Latimer will wel- come students when classes start next week. Interestingly, Mrs. Latimer origi- nally began her teaching career at Harrison in 1961, ae primary - grades and kindergart Since then, she coatinued to teach and work in education and has spent 15 years in administra- tive positions with the Halton Board of Education. Most recently, Mrs. Latimer was seconded to York University’s Faculty of Education as a professor. She spent three years there as a course direc- tor for teachers in training. Mrs. Latimer also possesses a doctorate in education. “I’m very happy to be here,” said Mrs. Latimer. “I’ll be work- ing with the teachers in a very col- laborative atmosphere. We're here to do the best for them and for the children.” Mrs. Latimer said she is very impressed by the caring of the teachers at Harrison. “There’s a teal sense of community here,” said Mrs. Latimer.
