Children’s chorus being formed in Georgetown By Wendy Long The sound of music is in the air for many children in Halton Hills and surrounding areas. A choir is being formed for chil- dren ages 7 to 12, called the Georgetown Children’s Chorus. Over 40 children have already reg- istered and are excited about the new group. “There is a tremendous need for it,” said musician Dale Wood, who will be the chorus’ conductor. “Music is a major part of every- one’s life. You can do so much by educating children.” The children’s chorus is long overdue, Wood said. He said that many small towns have lots of tal- ent and Georgetown’ is no excep- tion. Wood himself is a private music teacher and seasoned choral direc- tor.
