The Citizens’ Band started in December 1872, and to mark this anniversary, the Band held a Christmas with Keith Black serving as Master of Ceremonies. Throughout the concert, the audience was treated to classic Christmas tunes conducted by Karin Pelka, and Black would provide bits of history on the Band and the stories behind the songs. Black noted that two jeces of music would be dedicated to two life-long members of the band that have since passed. \ “We dedicate two pieces to long serving, one, George Elliott, and two, Aldo Braida. They both joined the boys’ band when their teens... They were very dedicated contributors and great support to the Band throughout their lives.” ‘The Band played a total of 19 holiday songs and ended the afternoon with ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’.
