VOLUME I, ISSUE 6 THE ACTON MONTHLY PAGE7 Plans underway for returning and new events in Downtown Acton for 2023 (Continued from article on page 1) When it comes to events in the spring and summer, Galliford says the BIA is working on plans that include the revitalization of returning events and the possible introduction of new ones. “The Downtown Acton BIA is currently underway in the planning and refresh of the Acton Outdoor Market; formerly the Farmers’ Market (now at Prospect Park), the 2023 Leathertown Festival, and the Trick or treat on Main and Mill Street. We are also bringing back the Acton Zombie Walk and we have a committee planning a potential new Downtown Acton event.” Along with the planning of new events, the BIA is also sorting out the details of the downtown flowers, flags and Christmas decorations. “Some things may continue the same, others will be refreshed to keep our community unique and beautiful. We love Acton, now it’s time to remind everyone local and travelling to visit us why ‘It’s Worth the Drive!’,” says Galliford. In addition to the improvements of events and the appearance of downtown, Galliford’s priority is to promote everything that makes Downtown Acton the place to be. “We are going to continue the positive initiative to promote Acton as a truly great and unique town to e so many diverse shops, services and restaurants in the downtown area that it is my priority to get the word out about why it’s great to visit and support these local businesses.” For further information, and to make comments or suggestions, you can contact Matt Galliford by visiting him at the Downtown Acton BIA office located inside the Acton Town Hall Centre at 19 Willow Street North, by calling 519-853-9555, or by sending an email to info@downtownacton.ca.
