Ed Cochrane, one of the key organizers of the upcoming pow- wow, said a local committee of vol- unteers is looking for support from town residents and merchants. Donations of money or merchan- dise prizes are needed for winners of the native dance competitions at the powwow. Voluntary donations will be accepted from merchants and Georgetown area residents attend- ing Sunday’s demonstration. Halton Hills councillor Pam Johnston will represent the town at the event, which will also feature a native crafts display. Native dancers and drummers representing several tribes from across Canada and the United States are expected to attend the Georgetown powwow.
