Euchre players a hardy crew By Betty Sojka The Women’s Institute had hoped to fill 20 tables at their Euchre held last Thursday at the community centre. Cold tempera- tures and other commitments kept the number down to 14 tables of people in attendance, which was still a great crowd. Two prizes were given out for each division of High Man’s and High Ladies. Henning Rasmussen won High Man’s followed by Ross Britton. June Longstreet had the highest points in the ladies division fol- lowed by Mrs. Weddell. Instead of having a booby prize, two lucky Ballinafad News cards were drawn, with Mrs. Pearl Burt and Emmerson Clarke being the winners. Oodles and oodles of delicious sandwiches were served along with light and dark cake. Tea and coffee completed the refreshments.
