with Bill Ellis THE TRUST The Downtown Brain Trust was rushed into emergency session, to contemplate the various, recent happenings of a political nat The Chairman eatitoned all members that all topics to be discussed were of a most serious nature and that no frivolity was allowed. His announcement was mostly lost in the din of the members celebrating the resignation of the P.M., even as they paid off their bets on when Brian would go. One Trust member reasoned that Brian had never done any damage, by design. He stated that Brian had always been isolated from ordinary Canadians. He did not mean for his policies to cause harm, and he never realized or acknowledged, how deeply and badly his various policies did hurt the people. Brian said that he made the tough decisions -- A member was heard to murmur that maybe they were tough to make -- because they were wrol Another member reviewed the recent meeting of all government levels, in Toronto, in an attempt to get Toronto moving again, economically. All had hoped for constructive and positive in-put. Enter the only man in step -- Mike Wilson. Mike mesmerized the attending politicians with myriad statistics, proving -- i only to Mike -- that the Federal Government had already done a fantastic job in helping the economy. And what else do you want, already? So much for constructive and positive! The Trust committee dealing with the Canadian Bill Clinton, were delirious with joy. The sweet smell of Out at the Ranch their own Garth (unconfirmed) |. running for Tory |Bij\gea) te leader was almost too much! Garth's musicianship, whether on guitar or saxophone, was set aside forever! There was still great concem over the beard. No one could recall the last bearded Prime Minister. It was decided, once and for all, the beard would have to go! Members were already collecting Clinton speeches for Garth to read. A new Brain Trust committee, set up to monitor the Tory leadership race, then gave their first report, as follows: Conservative delegates to the leadership convention had better think very hard, before casting their ballot. Never before have they had such a heavy responsibility. They must think away beyond just picking a new Tory leader. Will the new leader be accepted by the voting Canadian public? Will they pick someone who is tarnished with the past mistakes of ike Conservative government? -- maybe even someone who made some of those mistakes? The odds are that the Canadian voter will not accept such a Conservative leader. The odds are that Canadian voters are praying for a fresh new face, with new ideas, to lead them. For positive proof, you only have to look South! If you do not supply that type of io the odds are that the Canadian voters will turf out your party, just to ta a change. You lose and the country loses! Choose well -- you have a grand opportunity to do right! reported to me, the Downtown Brain Trust passed a motion expressing good luck to all of the Tory leadership contenders -- and much success to Garth (unconfirmed) [Is ween fi} TAX RETURNS SAME DAY ELECTRONICALLY FILED Associate Tax Consultants 101 Guelph St. Georgetown 877-2217 MEMBER OF TWO REAL ESTATE BOA BRAMPTON AND OAKVILLE & MILTON REAL ESTATE BOARDS M Morgan** PROVIDING REAL ESTATE Real Estate This Week, Wednesday, March 10, 1993 — Page 3 SERVICES SINCE 1972 Let me bring Toronto, Mississauga, & Brampton to your home via Rogers Cable TV 877-5165 Tor. 874-3040 ?
