Locally Ian McDonald and Dan Abercrombie are taking names for this event of singles, doubles and teams. The Industrial league first divi- sion is the Hustlers’ to win or lose right now. A few weeks remain and the lads are away in front of new second challengers, Cutters have returned to familiar territory after some challenging weeks of play. Westenders and Steeprock are back to third and fourth place respectively. Dream Team and Firemen ‘played’ a void match last week with both teams being short of the minimum players needed for their encounter. Nevertheless, Dream Team remain in front, and indeed are league win- ners, being unable to be caught. Ensigns move back to second place with Hot Shots breathing down their necks in the battle for promotion. Five points separate sec- ond and third place at the moment. It looks like Acadian Pools and Inter County are set for the drop to the second division. In the Halton league play, Hugh Smid fired 180, Hank Van Gogh finished 126 and Jim Long closed s rapidly running out out 111. Todd Axford and Ray orter scored 160 and 156 respec- tively. Brad Youmans and Mike Pepper both scored three 140s. Colin Hicks scored two 140s and 134. Terry Hancock and Dave Scutt each fired two 140s.
