A winter blizzard forced postponement of the event originally scheduled in March. The evening program is now scheduled for Sunday, April 18, 7:30 p.m., in the Community Hall of Ebenezer United Church, Guelph Line, 6km north: of Campbellville. Speakers. will include Alex Sim, Bev Slater and Carl Sulliman, with local farmer John Kitching as moderator. Alex Sim is widely read as the author of “Land and Community - Crisis in Canada’s Countryside” and “Plight of the Rural Church”, He is also Rast President of the Rural Learning Association and farmed until 1979. Bev Slater is a dairy farmer who has been involved in rural issues for 26 years. Her world-wide expe- rience includes work with: the United Church in Zambia, Chair of the London Conference Division of World Outreach, and service on the Board of Directors of Canadian Foodgrains Bank. Carl H. Sulliman, P.Ag., is the CEO of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, the Ontario Agricultural Training Institute and the Agriculture Publishing Company. His experience in gov- ernment and the rural community gives him a broad perspective on the needs of Ontario’s Agricultural Community. The evening is organized by the Outreach Committee of Ebenezer Pastoral Charge which includes Arkell, Eden Mills and Ebenezer United Churches. Refreshments will follow the presentation. North Halton Kub Kars in competition Seventeen Kub Kars from North Halton District were entered in the Central Escarpment Region Kub Kar Rally held in Oakville last Saturday. In total, 132 Kub Kars flew down the tracks at the one-day event. While North Halton Scouts didn’t claim championship tro- phies, five area Scouts saw their Kub Kars reach the finals.
