The whole team played with confidence and determination and they were led in scoring by Kyle Hotham and Brad Snow with two goals each, while Chris Henderson had a single. Assists were drawn by Graham McCulloch (3), Alex Durham, Tim Mansfield, Ronny Larocque, Martin Lefebvre and Brad Snow. On April 1 at Alcott in the championship final game, the Raiders appeared to be very appre- hensive and were unable to put any scoring plays together. The Brampton Maroons capitalized and scored in each period and also added an empty-netter in the clos- ing seconds for a 4-0 final. Despite the loss, Georgetown’s. Another remarkable highlight of the season was their 19-game unbeaten streak which they carried from the opening game through to mid-December. In both playoff series, at the OMHA and Tri-County levels, the Raiders refused to go:down easy, as they took their opponents, Burlington and Brampton respec- tively, to the fifth and final games. Follow the bouncing ref By Ruth Taylor Special The indoor soccer ball was. bounced off referee Kim Timmin; four times during the fast-paced game last Saturday between the Purple team and the Little Red Devils in Under-13 house league play. Throwouts by the goalies were fast. Kim Moore, in goal for the Little Red Devils team, threw.such a long one that it was caught by the Purple team goalie Kathy Irvine. Purple player Katherine Tuitman aimed a low and fast shot that was. well caught. Kim Moore lost her shoe momentarily on a fast stop as Angie Crane connected with the ball for the Purple side. Little Devil Jen Tremblay saved a few with fast Tuns down the gym floor, resulting in a knee twist injury. Red forward Bethan Elliott aimed two hard shots at Purple goalie Jessie Brown who kicked them out. The only goal came in the second “half as Red’ Devil player Davina Taylor put one in ona bounce play. The Purple team played on with a direct shot by Kathy Irvine result- ing in a fingertip save. The-Little Red Devils defense with Amanda Burgan and Brianne Evers-Jordan stopped all advances. The Red team almost scored again in the last minute but Purple player Alyssa Taylor blocked one shot with her body and then another one with her foot as the game ended with the score 1-0 for the HALTON HILLS FIRE DEPARTMENT | onencency "4, 9-1-1 fofole) mctelerer-\g Little Red Devils. Fancy head and footwork shigh- lighted the Yellow Hornets and Blue team game. Hornet Annie Schaefer practised kicking the ball backwards to teammates and then rocked the net with a close fast shot on goal. Blue-player Becky Leferink man- aged two headers off different walls in a corner play. The closely-fought game was changed by Hornet Tasha Palumbo-Coates who kicked one in from the centre - a long line drive. Blue player Paula Gougeon stopped a good shot with her chest.
