Rebels walk all over outclassed Burlington Central Runs early and often dnd some strong pitching were the key in the GDHS Rebels 17-4 romp over Burlington Central in girls softball action Wednesday in Burlington. A balanced attack helped the Rebel cause with Kim Brown and Kerrie Van der Valk each driving in three and Laura Komorowski and Shannon Morris also provid- ing some power in the attack. The winning pitcher was Sherri Peacock as the girls ran their record te 2-0. Coach Bob Hastie credits the timely hitting from the entire team as well as great pitch- ing as the keys for the quick start by the Rebel team. The Rebel girls will be involved in a softball tournament today & (Saturday) in Georgetown with eight high school teams from the Halton region. The Rebs games times are 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. Golfers support CMHA in 5th annual Classic The fifth annual CMHA Golf Classic has been set for June 24 at the Carlisle Golf and Country Club. The tournament is in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Halton region branch. Ad added feature this year is a comedian from Yuk Yuk’s who will perform at the dinner after the tournament. Cost of the tournament is $90 and golfers will receive a charita- ble receipt for a portion of that amount.
