Heritage Halton Hills, for- merly Halton Hills LACAC (Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee), recognizes a residents in rural areas are important source of this be itage knowledge. Therefore, need the support of inter- ested citizens to let us know about the heritage resources {pat you think are important to our rural landsc: Heritage Halton Hills is a citizens’ committee which advises town council on any matter relating to the designa- tion and conservation of her- itage resources. This can range from identification and designation of heritage prop- erties, providing advice on appropriate preservation, restoration and maintenance techniques as well as support- ing local heritage research. Our vision is to prepare for the future through conducting inventories and identifying heritage properties rather than only reacting to requests or threats to their existence. Therefore, our past projects have included inventories and reports on heritage properties and districts as well as a liminary study concerning the conservation of rural land- scapes in Halton Hills. Through funding from the Town of Halton Hills, and the ©Ontario Heritage Foundation through a Niagara Escarpment Project Grant, we are embarking on another project.
