Not exactly welcome news for those golfers who would be competing in the North Halton Golf and Country Club’s mens and ladies championship tour- naments scheduled for the three-day break. As things turned out, sunny skies blessed the three days of the tourna- ment but lightning did strike in the form of Paul Morrow and Gloria Sinclair. Both returned to the ed off the silverware award- ed to the 1993 mens. and ladies club champions, respectively. Morrow claimed his fourth mens North Halton Golf and Country Club 218, while Sinclair posted her 10th club champi- onship victory in a row (14th overall), with rounds of 77, 75 and 80. There was more silver- ware up for grabs, however, than just the club champi- onship trophies. . On the ladies side, Anne Currie will need more shelf space, as she was declared the Ladies net Champion, the Ladies Senior Champion and the Ladies ‘B’ Flight Champion. Jean Chappel emerged as the Ladies Diamond Lil Champion; Kathy Latimer “Betty-Ann was the ‘D’ Flight champion with a playoff win over Lil Stewart; Mulholland was the Ladies ‘C’ Flight Champion and Mona Milne was the Ladies 9 Hole Champion. : Ike Lawlor was the Mens ‘D’ Flight Champion; Gerry Taylor was the Mens ‘C’ Flight Champion and Paul Stover was the Mens ‘B’ Flight Champion. Sinclair won the ladies club championship by 15 strokes over runner-up Gail McIntyre, with third place finisher Kathy Crowe, five more shots off the pace. Wendy Grandman finished fourth, while Peggy Darmody took fifth place. Tronically, last year, with Morrow not competing, Koyanki and Sokolowski finished tied for sec- ond place behind Danny Hysen of Mississauga.
