Halton Credit Union slid by Shoppers Drug Mart 30-27 thanks to two home runs by Kelly Quinn. Ryan Buisman and Taylor King replied with homers for Shoppers Drug Mart. David Robinson hit a triple while Grant M: i and Michael McNeilly got doubles. “Climb against Crime” Crime Stoppers of Halton is organizing a 10 km road raci as a fund-raising project. Named the ‘CLIMB AGAINST CRIME”, runners will challenge the Niagara Escarpment along a scenic course on paved roads in both urban and rural settings in Milton. I will take place; rain or shine, Oct. 3 at 9 a.m, Starting at the Optimist Centre on Commercial St. in Milton, the run proceeds north to Main. Racers then head west along Main St. past Bronte St., Tremaine Rd. and Bell School Line. The turn- around point is atop the escarpment between Bell School Line and Appleby Line. Racers will return to the Optimist Centre by reversing the route Entry forms are now avail- able at Division 11 police sta- tion in Georgetown, the Fitness Technique at 248 Main St. E. in Milton, and at McMaster Sport at 3235 Fairview St. Burlington. Registration on the morn- ing of the race will take place at the Optimist Centre on Commercial St. in Milton between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration for this event will be at the Fitness Technique in Milton from Sept. 27 to Oct. 2. Entry fees for the run are $12 before Sept., increasing to $15 from Sept. 25 until day race day. There are three race cate- gories for both male and female entrants. Junior racers must be 19 or younger on race day. The Open category will include those between 20 and 39. The Masters category is for runners 40 or over. . Awards will be presented to the top male and female over- all runners, as well as the top three finishers in each catego- This is the first time Crime Stoppers of Halton has under- taken such an event. They are looking forward to hosting many running enthusiasts from Halton and neighboring areas.
