VOLUME 1, ISSUE 9 THE ACTON MONTHLY PAGE IT Hillsview Report With Julie Conroy Hillsview Active Living 50+ Seniors Centre - Acton Throughout the month of June, we celebrated Seniors Month. On Tuesday, June 6th and Thursday, June 8th members enjoyed a delicious free lunch. The dessert was generously donated by Desjardin Insurance. Hands on Exotics brought a variety of animals including a flying squirrel, a hedgehog, and several cuddly bunnies. We were able to see and learn about a variety of animals. Everyone enjoyed celebrating Canada Day early on Friday, June 30th with peameal bacon on a bun and salad followed by a magic show. Once a month we hold a Ladies breakfast and Men’s breakfast on Tuesday mornings We are holding a summer family pancake brunch on July 20th followed by games and activities for the children. Over the summer months we will be holding intergenerational programs with the Day Camp leaders, including mini putt, bingo, art, movies, and hiking. If you are hoping to get out of the heat during the summer months, we have a monthly movie on Tuesdays starting at 12.30p.m. Once a month we have Bingo on Saturday afternoons. The next one will be on Saturday, July 8th at 2:00pm. All are welcome! There are also weekly lunches followed by bingo on Fridays. If you are new to Acton and area, drop in and pick up a newsletter that lists all the programs and events at both the Acton and Georgetown Centres. ‘Your membership gives you access to the programs and services at both centres. We are located at 415 Queen St, adjoining the Acton Arena. Mark your calendar! On Saturday, August 12th from 9.00a.m.—2.00p.m. we will be holding our huge Annual Book and Puzzle Sale & outdoor BBQ.
