PAGE 12 THE ACTON MONTHLY VOLUME I, ISSUE 10 “Dear Terry": 43rd Annual Terry Fox Run in Acton set for this September A special article to The Acton Monthly By Jon Hurst, Acton Terry Fox Run Committee On Sunday, September 17th, the 43rd annual Terry Fox run will take place in Acton at the Acton High School track. Opening ceremonies will begin at 8 am, but participants can arrive any time between 8 am and 3 pm to walk, jog, wheel or stroll some or all of the 25 laps around the rubberized oval. This year’s theme is “Dear Terry”, where participants and supporters can go online at terryfox.org to describe how Terry’s legacy inspires them today, with many of those messages of love, hope and inspiration from Canadians being featured in this year’s campaign. Participants can also register for the Acton Run site by going online and following the easy directions. The Acton Terry Fox Run Committee is so very thankful to and proud of all of our faithful participants, sponsors and volunteers who have continued their commitment to Terry's dream of finding a cure for cancer. Over the past 42 years, the Acton Terry Fox Run has raised over $930,000 for innovative cancer research. Terry would certainly be proud of the exciting advancements that have been made over the years in cancer research, but most likely even more proud of the continuing success of the annual Terry Fox Runs held in his honour. Acton can certainly be proud of its contribution to that success. For information or questions, call Jon at 519-853- 2015. TERRY FOX MARATHON OF HOPE a FINISH Willow Lane Natural Foods Gi
