The North Halton Distress Centre also provides a trans- portation service and also makes calls to seniors for security reasons, or on a friendly basis just to chat with seniors. Some of the calls range from being as simple as pro- viding a piece of information, to something as difficult as someone contemplating sui- cide. Other calls come from people who are angry and in need of an.outlet. People-who are lonely or feel they can’t speak to their friends or family, make up the largest percentage of callers.
