The route will take you from 6th Line to 5th Line and back again for a total length of 4 km on fairly even ground. To reach the start from Georgetown, travel west on Maple Ave. Take the first right (6th Line) west of Trafalgar Road. After about three km you will cross Regional Road 43 (busy!) and 6th Line soon becomes a dirt road. After about 2 km the road goes up a hill with broad shoulders on your right. The trail goes east (left) into the woods just before this hill, but the only safe parking is on the hill. If you are coming from Acton, proceed east on Hwy. #7 and turn right Nellis Sabres hanging tough very good records at this point in the season and games between the three teams have been very tight. After climbing a stile, you will find yourself at the edge of afield that is planted in Winter wheat. Stay at the edge of the field and do not damage the crops. Near the far end of. the field another stile will take you across a stream and into a wooded area. You will now need to turn around and retrace your steps to 6th Line and your ar. The entire walk should take about 1.5 hours if you are a fairly brisk walker. It takes about 10 minutes to reach the start from Georgetown and about 15 minutes from Acton. Georgetowners could return home by continuing up 6th Line to Hwy. #7 and turning right. Remember that dusk falls early and fast at this time of year so plan ahead if hiking in the after- noon. Also, dress warmly to avoid getting chilled.
