The McNally Construction Minor Novice Raiders were in tough com- last weekend teams, Dundas and Hespeler. The Raiders played host to Dundas last Saturday losing a 5-3 battle, as Dundas came on strong in the first period scoring four goals. Both teams played to a scoreless second period. Determined to get on the scoreboard, the Raiders cranked up the heat in the third period scoring three times to cut into the lead 4- 3. Dundas scored one more time in the third to preserve win. Ryan Little netted two goals, assisted by Steve Kogon and Joel Hamilton. Jordan Cole scored the other goal assisted. by Matt Hilts. Goaltenders Alex MacLeod. and Jason Armstrong were busy in the nets seeing lots of action. Sunday, Hespeler came to town and the Raiders struck first on a goal by Hilts with Cole and Bradley Norton assisting. Hespeler tied: it early in the second. However, the Raiders quickly took the lead again when Joel Hamilton scored from Ryan Hirtle and Steve Kogon, making it 2-1. Norton made it 3-1 Raiders thanks to some hard work by Eric Euteneier. Hespeler came back with a goal before the second period came to an = closing the gap to 3-2. Both teams were fired up for the third period but Hespeler scored three times for a 5-3 lead. The Raiders didn’t give .up as Kogan scored with Hirtle and Hamilton assisting. The Raiders pulled the goalie with under a minute left and despite of the action in front of the Hespeler net, the Raiders couldn’t squeeze the tying goal in. For the second game in a row goaltendérs Armstrong and MacLeod were out- Standing in the Raiders net. Major Novice Raiders throw blanket on Ching Last Saturday, the getown Minor Hockey Association Major Novice Raiders played host to Chinguacousy and some solid defense helped in a 2- 0 victory. Rusty Parsons opened the scoring early in the first, assisted by Scott Rostrup and Andy Burns. The Raiders played both strong offensively and defensively in the second thanks to goaltender Donnie Lane who stopped plenty of shots, to keep the second McKnight squeezed the only goal in the fast paced third period that preserved the win for the Raiders. Matt Knoepfli assisted on the McKnight goal. The next home game is tonight (Saturday) at 7:15 p.m. against Woolwich. M&M Pee Wee Raiders suffer loss to Milton The Georgetown M & M Pro Sports Minor Pee Wees suffered a tough 9-2 defeat to Milton last Sunday at Gordon Alcott Memorial Arena. Milton opened the scor- ing at 8:18 of the first, but Jason Campbell from Brian Stuttard tied it for the Raiders. Milton would add another goal late in the first for a 2-1 lead after one. The third period was a rough one for M & M as Milton scored five straight goals for a commanding 7-1 lead. Derek Mitchell. with Michael Rovere assisting, for the M&M Pro Sports squad, made it 7-2. Milton added two more to run the final count to 9-2.
