Without the volunteers, this wouldn’t be possible. 55 teams registered within our .H.A. would also like to thank the many businesses and individuals which have generously sponsored one of the ockey association. If you, as parent and players, could support our sponsors, maybe their year in business in 1994 might be that much better. Their record at the Christmas break is 9 wins and a tie. In the last two games they only gave up three goals to maintain their 1.5 goals against average. In exhibition play, the Select Raiders had two games against the Guelph 7-year-old selects, On Dec. 12, at Memorial Arena in Georgetown, the Raiders dominated the game on the small ice surface and _ wounced Guelph 10-1. Joshua Hunt and, Kyle » Russell-shared the goaltend- ing duties and they were sharp when they needed to be. At the other end of the rink, the Raiders constantly beat the other team to the puck. With crisp passes to the open player, the goals and assists came often for the selects, Jonathan Southgate had two goals and three assists, Aaron Kirk had one goal and three assists, Kevin Field has three goals, Mark, Boycott had two goals and one assist, Tim luge: had one goal and two assi Jason Viera Picked up a goal while Daniel Sliasas and Shaun Dennie each added an ist. The return game in Guelph on Dec. 18 was a different story. Guelph scored in the first-minute, and carried most of the play. Without the solid goaltending of Russell and Hunt, the Raiders would not have been in a position to pull out a victory, which is exactly what they did. Defensemen Tregunna, Matt Lyons, Men Kooy, Colin. Lumb, and Travis Bland settled down and started to move the puck up to. the forwards. The offense took a while to get going and did just enough SCOrRE to squeak out a 3-2 ictor tory. “Tim Walinga scored two with both assists from Mark Boycott. Jonathan Southgate scored the other one with an assist from Tim Walinga. The Selects’ next series of games are in Streetsville, starting on Boxing Day.
