- Three natural draft lime kilns of Gypsum Lime and Alabastine Limited in 1957. GLA bought the kilns from the Robertson Lime Company in the late 1920s. GLA was bought by Dominion Tar and Chemical Company (Domtar) in 1959. A controlled amount of water was added to the quicklime produced in the kilns in the hydrate plant. This product was bagged and shipped for use in mortar for brick laying. The plant was closed in the early 1960s and the business transferred to Domtar's Hespeler plant. Scan only
