Notes

William Panton Jr. was born at Kilbride, Ont., the son of William Panton Sr. and Rebecca S. Pearson. In 1880 he married Lily McKenzie and the couple had two sons and six daughters. He was appointed Clerk of Halton County and served from 1865 to 1931. He was the part owner and then sole owner of "The Canadian Champion".
