Since its beginning, Sacré-Cœur has provided its students with many fun and educational programs, events and extracurriculars. This includes sports, dress-up days for holidays, science events such as “Technomascie” and more. The school was featured on CBC’s French radio program, “CBC Bonjour,” and included various students and families from Georgetown in October 1991.
Another popular event hosted by the school was known as
Découvrons Le Canada (Discover Canada) . It appeared in the local newspapers many times throughout the 2005 school year. The students were attempting to walk the equivalent of the Trans-Canada Highway. Each grade was responsible for a territory or province to exhibit once the school “arrived” there. They would walk laps around the gym every Friday morning to count as their kilometers.
Conceived by a very strong and united Francophone community, Sacré-Cœur has retained these ties with not only the local community, but also has built relations with provincial and national Francophone communities and associations. It is also a very active member in the overall Georgetown community.
The following gallery displays some of the events at Sacré-Cœur over the years, including photographs, invitations, and newspaper articles.
