Not sure who it is but this photo is in my husband family photograph book with the Francis and Clarissa Wilkinson. Have had this book for years not knowing who these people were but thanks to your web site I am figuring out who they are. My mother in law was Mary Isabel Wilkinson, the only child from Herbert's marriage with what we believe was his third wife.
The woman is Prudence Forbes nee Norton. The man is Alexander Forbes, C1865. The child is likely their first born Kathryn "Kate" Forbes. Identified by comparing photos in Norton album and photos in private Havens collection in Colorado.
Prudence was murdered in 1882 by Alexander. They had been separated for six years at the time. He committed suicide immediately after.
The Hamilton Spectator reported the tragedy over three days beginning 22 June 1882.
