- "The Lorne Skuce family was involved in the field of education and a public school in Oakville is named in honour of Mr. Skuce. Mrs. Skuce taught in North Bay Teachers' College where she met Mr. Skuce. He was later the provincial inspector of schools in Halton County. He retired from that position, and became superintendent of schools in Trafalgar Township. After the amalgamation of Oakville and Trafalgar in 1960, he became superintendent of schools for the Oakville Public School Board."
