Postcard (first of five) to Rev. R.B. Layton, Kentville, Nova Scotia, mailed from London, England on 3 August 1914, one day before Britain declared war on Germany. Postcard is from 29-year-old Agnes Mary Kitchen and her 21-year-old sister Gladys Kitchen.
Notes
Chepstow Castle, located in Chepstow, Monmouthshire in Wales, overlooking the River Wye, is the oldest surviving stone fortification in Britain.

Dear Mr. Layton – Your letter was forwarded to England and reached me on Wed. last. The neglect in writing has been on my side and I have been so ashamed of myself that I have not had the face to send you any cards although I have wished to, often.
