- Postcard mailed to Rev. R.B. Layton in Kentville, Nova Scotia in December 1916 from James Gallaher in France.
- Notes
- Scottish-born trained gardener 39-year-old James Gallaher had emigrated to Canada a year before the outbreak of war to work for the Dominion Experimental Station in Kentville, Nova Scotia. He signed up for war duty in November 1914 serving with the 5th Cavalry Division Supply Column of the Canadian Army Service Corps supplying combat troops with rations, water, petrol, ammunition, and providing transportation.
