- Description
- 511 Main Street. Circa 1866. This two storey brick house was built for Joseph Williams (1844-1920) when he was manager of the Williams Mills. Joseph married in 1866 and it is thought that the house would have been built around that time for him and his new bride. The house does not appear in any documents in 1854 or on the 1861 census, but is noted in the 1871 census. Joseph was a third generation Williams, son of Charles (1811-1889) and Mary Jane Williams.
