monday to see the best in farm products that canada produces we are more than pleased that this year the worlds wheat king is a farmer well known tojs william breckon who produced the best wheat right here in our county of halton his is one of the exhibits from halton that will be a must on our visit to the royal when we consider the many exhibitors who will be at the royal right from our county we make no apology for our intimate contacts with agricultural groups were right among our own folks even if we never tilled the soil we are privileged to share their viewpoint on matters which are of vital interest to all canadians the good old days may have seemed better back in 1904 back in 1934 thunder novambfr 17 ii tln i u t alv itrtlllln lkll i 1 niid n rr dip r iird px ritm uu imm f th tm later the popular bazaar item of fish pond the lure in such events was of course that there was always the hope of get ting more than the fee and the element of sur prise these things are still popular items at money- raising events but there is another one that seems to be played more frequently now than in other days perhaps it is the speed and hurry and per haps it is laxity in mailing but those cards of in sufficient postage seem to occur with annoying regularity in our mail we get a lot of press releases which never get further than the waste basket the pioblem is to know whether the article which re quires double the normal rates is worth paying for its like the old grab bagyou never know what you are getting until after you have paid our money we think the post office department is perfecttyusified in requiring payment for ser vice rendered certainly the place to get postage due is before the transaction is completed sometimes the transaction is never completed and we are getting the habit of not picking up the bulky mail on which we have postage to pay much of it we find conies from government pub licity releases which often aren t news and it is rather expensive material with which to load ones waste paper basket we ust hand out this h nt to propaganda departments in government or other groups where mail ng is heavy if you want it to get m the right
