about 60 students were admitted through the door of ac ton high school of these about 10 graduated and are now in in stitutions of higher learning or in that world commonly called work good luck to all the school most of us attendee before coming to lactori high school at its present location at the eastern end of town was in the old stone building which the pub lic school is now using for some of its classes in that building all five grades were crowded into six small rooms two years ago our dreams were fulfilled when we moved lock stock and barrel to the present location the school was then six classrooms and a shop last fall theaddition was op ened to bring the number of rooms to 10 there are also the offices store rooms and teachers lounge we have quite a modern school former teachers in a column of this type names of former teachers come to mind no one can forget mr o e rob- bins who was our principal before going to stouffville as principal there it was he who instilled in our minds the rudiments of algeb ra and geometry then there was miss c j grindley fondly remem bered as ditesvous wbo taught french and introduced uu to the office world through commercial she now teaches in toronto miss edythe harris arrived on the scene and stayed until two years ago and now teaches in al- liston miss iu snyder took over the french after miss grindley left and last year married her doctor dr hugh mclean we cannot for get mr jack heron who led acton in the winning of the rugby and field day cups nor his little blonde wife richard and the twins who all live in huntsville where he teaches mrs hess cannot get away from the acton girls as she now teaehes home economics in georgetown af ter teaching commercial here two years ago mrs switzer came to ahs picking up the reins after one of our teachers left during the year and finished in i blaze of glory at the end of the 3 ear she now teaches at acton public school mr g ringler is now in ingersoll after teaching commercial here list year we can t forget our prin cipal mr e a hansen he is tho onfv surviving member of the old school stiff new teachers last fall five new teachers were added to the suiff mrs vilenote miss gruber and messrs drijber peillusch and buchanan this year two of them are leaving imiss gru ber and mr buchanan good luckl the rest of the teaching staff at acton are mrs reed miss taylor and messsr hansen caddick and pastvr mrs a j buchinan comes to school when the staff is short- handed let us not forget mr spielvogel the caretaker of the school ho carries the morning shift
