on sundav with mr and mrs d stewart and family little sharon robertson of guelph visited on wednesday with her grandparents mr and mrs d g robertson rev and mrs foreman who have spent the past few months with their daughter at petrol la returned to the home of their daughter and soninlaw mr and mrs gordon aitken mrs foreman is bedfast following a stroke in the spring and made the trip by ambulance mr and mrs t h fines and doris visited with mr and mrs george young and marilyn acton on saturday evening mrs sarctta grundy ot stratford is holidaying with her son and daughterinlaw mr and mrs george grundy and family sincere sympathy is extended to mrs gordon mccartney in the passing of her sister last week at guelph miss joyce robertson who is at tending summer school at mcmastcr university hamilton was home for the weekend other euests with mr and mrs george d robertson during the weekend were mr and mrs gordon robertson jim and sharon mr nnd mrs hugh robert son and family mr and mrs wil liam webb nnd family all of guelph friends of mrs h r howard will be pleased to learn she returned to her home here during the week end and is convalescing following a major operation archibald pre sided and mrs w awrey read the minutes and correspondence the program for the day was giv en by the girls of the 4h club an outline of the past two clubs was given by the leaders miss doris fines and mrs e fisher excellent reports of the recent girls confer ence were riven by shirley awrey and joan aicn a story of the magic milk bottle was read by sharon bessev an accordion solo by joan aitken and a piano instru mental by shirle avro was fol lowed bv an educational quiz on ontario with mrs george young as winner a committee miss doris fines mrs e fisher and mrs d g robertson were named to arrange an exhibit for erin fair a report was given by mrs e fisher on the bus trip to be taken bv the ladies on august 9 the institute award to the pupils of the 4ocal school who i had made the most progress during the year were announced laurel stubbington and eddj smith are to receive this the next meeting is to be a picnic to elora gorge vark and a visit to the museum lunch served by the hostesses and assistants concluded a pleasant afternoon betty and nancy grundy visited last week with friends in toronto mr and mrs carman griffin and granddaughter leslie ann griffin of gmduuted from the ontario college of pharmacy lit 1927 since that time he has own ed stores in oalt kitchener mer- rlton toronto and guelph but has resided in guelph since 1938 here he owned and operated kennedys book store as well as two drug stores mr kennedy spent a busy and successful life besides his success ful business activities he was act ive in the affairs of guelph he was a member of the board of manag ers of chalmers street united church he was a mason being a member of waverley lodge rose croix and lodge of perfection keenly interested in helping the blind mr kennedy was a member of the executive of the guelph and wellington county advisory board of the canadian national institute for the blind he was also a mem ber of the guelph rotary club the guelph country club and
