sixtynve years of married life were celebrated last sunday by mr and mrs s h lindsay rr 1 limehouse when friends called to extend congratulations telegrams were received from queen elizabeth and prime minister st laurent and the couple are pictur ed with some of the beautiful bouquets of flowers they received mjkuak 3k iieaa queen st laurent congratulate s h lindsays on anniversary a well known nnd respected couple who have lived at r r 1 limehouse since their marriage in 1891 mr and mrs s h lindsay received congratulations and best wishes on their 65th wedding an iviversary sunday their home was attractive with many bouquets of flowers as they welcomed over 190 guests from niagara falls tor onto brampton georgetown bar rie guelph and hillsburgh as well as the immediate community many cards and gifts of candy and flowers were received prime minister louis st laurent sent a letter of congratulations and a tele gram was received from her maj esty queen elizabeth stanley hall mpp and mrs hall came to call and brought with them a certific ate from the province of ontario receiving at the door and lok inn after signing the register were their two granddaughters miss betty mae price and miss marilyn madill mrs d h lindsay mrs madill and mrs price received the guests in the front nxmi and then showed them to the dining room where lunch was served from the table the lace cloth plan on 20 year basis avoid dormitory town residential zoning came under consideration at last monday even ings acton planning board meet ing with planning consultant p allan deacon i members reviewed locations of posible future subdivisions and agreed there is a need to avoid dor mitory types of residences in order to sustain the economy of the town mr deacon emphasized all plan ning by the board must be consid ered as a 20 year plan for acton- he noted a need for adequate tax revenue from residences to ensure their ability to pay for the provis ion of services required by them it was stressed this is possible on ly if minimum standards for the variously zoned areas are upheld at previous meeting the board had established commercial and industrial zones which will be in cluded in an overall zoning by law to be submitted to council for approval when completed an application from the atlas fiu1 oil co for the establishment of a retail gasoline service station on the southwest corner of no 7 highway and meadowvale road was refused because the proposed site did not conform with planning re quirements final figures with final figures available on the recent paving program in acton it is evident the total cost was s1s15s767 the contracted price was s113- 11573 bat with additional ex penses for gravel manhole con struction inspection and engi neers fees totalling 841194 the final ambulance service provided b the runiley funeral home in ac ton will cease at the end of jan uary 1967 it was reported by bruce shoemaker director of the homo to the acton council meet ing on tuesday evening he asked if the town would consider pro vision of this service mr shoemaker appearing be forcthe council explained that at a recent meet inc halton funeral directors had decided to discon- tinue ambulance service the towns because of he disuixantagcs encountered he noted that directors arc ob taining more ill will from the ervicc than rood if in accident occurs at the same time a funeral is being conducted he said the ambulance i bound to be late a the scene of the accident thereby causing resentment on the part of the patient and any others con cerned he cited recent events
