dunlop of barrie hill united church sev eral ideas were presented there are 12 churches in the township of eramosa and they expect each to take one month of the centennial year for special services if possible a new years eve watch nite service is planned to be held in barrie hill church several memorial services will be held in township cemeteries during the year during the summer ah interfaith service is hoped for with the eramosa recrea tion park the tentative loca tion a church centennial bul letin board is hoped to be plac ed in each church in the town ship where possible church bells the grade eight graduating tlass in june the two speakers for the evening miss m whewell a home economics teacher and mr lloyd kruschenske who teaches industrial arts were most interesting and informa tive there are 171 grades sev en and eight pupils who go by bus to guelph for these sub jects and it is interesting to know they receive as much in struction as any guelph pupil mist whewell stated that a wife could throw more out the back door than her hus band could drag in- the front this she stated makes an ed ucation for family living so imperative the girls are plac ed in groups of four or five and taught nutrition food and health as well as the art of being a good hostess the need to serve meals with appeal learning to cook meal plan ning house keeping and laun dering are also taught in sewing 10 different types of cotton material are studied and articles made as advanced as the sleeveless and collar- less blouse personal appear ance is stressed and the art of choosing proper clothes and accessories to suit individual needs miss whewell urged mothers to take their daugh ters with them when they go shopping and show them that just because a package has a toy bonus in it
