the same year started in priv ate practice in rockwood he has become a well known member of his profession and respected citizen of the com munity in the intervening years he had been wellington county coroner for over 20 years he was in the reserve army and when world war ii broke out his entire unit the 11th field ambulance corps join ed up and soon went over seas he was discharged with the rank of major he then continued his prac tice in rockwood he was nam ed county coroner for welling ton county in 1945 two years ago he was named life mem ber ol the wellington county medical association he was a member of the board of visitors of homcwood sanatarium lor the past 20 years and was a staff member of st josephs and guelph general hospitals in guelph he was active with the era- mosa township progressive conservative party and serv ed as its chairman for many years an active member of st johns anglican church in rockwood he served as both the peoples warden and rec tors warden fora number of years he was a member of the guelph masonic lodge and he was an ardent hunter and fish erman he is survived by his wife the former bessie sleen son george waller of palmerston three daughters mrs charles greene joyce of gettysburg south dakota mrs richard mcgregor nancy of ottawa and mrs patrick caughey vic toria of saginaw michigan and 16 grandchildren he was predeceased
