dinner and presented three certificates to the groups which won recognition in the 1966 fire prevention competition sponsored by the national fire prevention as sociation he tpld the aud ience of 80 that halton county was winning international rec ognition with its effective mu tual aid service and its fire prevention bureaus ideas were being copied across the nat ion halton fire prevention bur eau was awarded a special re cognition for an outstanding countv sponsored fire preven tion campaign in 1966 mr turnbull presented the certi ficate to halton county war den william coulter who pre sented it to mutual aid coor dinator chief douglas wilson of oakville milton fire department en tered in the class for munici- palities of 5000 to 10000 popu- i latlon won third prize for all of ontario honorable mention i for all of canada and stood 25th of 258 canadian commun ities which submitted scrap- book entries the deputy fire marshal presented the certifi cate to milton mavor s g childs who presented it to milton fire chief a e clem ent also honored was the oak ville fine department its scrapbook entered in compe tition with municipalities of 25000 to 100000 population re ceived an honorable mention for both ontario and canad ian contests and stood 28th in all of canada oakville coun cillor donald gordon accepted the certificate from mr turn- hull and passed it on to also be a highlight of the friday night program a giant birthday cake about eight feel tall will be another feature on the saturday a parade along the guelph line is-being- planned clowns floats and possibly a bus load of the townships elder citizens will be featured in the parade which will end up at mohawk there will be a display of eth nic folk dancing bv students of the joa waters school of danc- mg and at the same time in the old township hall in brook ville there will be displays of antiques a variety show in mohawk raceway in the evening will feature township and area tal ent and it is expected there will be a mass school choir in attendance the variety show will be followed bv a fireworks display on sunday the townships centennial project improve ments to community parks at eden mills brookvllle and campbellvllle will be dedi cated and a special centennial service will be held at brook vllle the service will be followed by a picnic and probably games representatives of all
