afternoon and a var iety show in the evening al though i the latter half of the evenings variety show was called off due to rain the greatest part or the program was conducted under clear skies the parade was highlighted by antique cars several centen nial theme floats one a water mill depicted the history of eden mills and another school house complete with desks and children which stood out older set moved inside for square and round dancing to the sound of an old time orchestra each of the girls in the nassagaweya queen contest made short speeches telling why they are proud to be a canadian judges were halton sheriff andrew frank mo hawk raceway building super intendent and val borrow li brarian at university of guelph of the six entrants susan commons an attractive and amiable brown eyed brunette emerged as queen with faye mathics andmary dennis her princesses susan who hopes to become a registered nurses assistant in the armed forces next october has sung in the st georges choir since she was seven years old and has been a member of the girls auxiliary at st georges church in lowville and a mem ber of the careers club at mil ton district high school in past years the queen wore a centennial gown with a floral pattern that her mother had made and red slippers over her gown susan wore a scarlet regal robe and tiara by the end of the threeday cele brations it was a tired but happy voung lady who reigned as queen of nassagaweya not long after the naming of the queen and her court the giant cake drawn by a tractor entered the hall the four go- go girls were sealed dication were held at the new cairns in campbellville and eden mills park at 2j0 pjn then over 400 residents of the township joined together for an outdoor community church service dedication of the park and picnic at brookville at s pm the brookville ball park is a new park adjacent to the township administration build ing on the guelph line im provements at the existing ball park in eden mills included washrooms water facilities and shrubs while at campbell ville bleachers and four large pieces of playground equip ment were added at the vil lage ball park the project cost 17200 with federal
