board and half days for nastagaweya public school board in the meantime portable classrooms may be the answer at added expense we as a board are charged with the re sponsibility of providing ade quate educational facilities and believe me we are greatly con cerned it is worthy of mention that parents of senior grade stu dents at the m z bennett had the opportunity to learn the new math by courtesy of prin cipal smith and staff osval chapman mrs hannah will teach home economics half days for nas- sagaweya public school board and half days home econo mics at the robert little public school tbc public fcboote are being used to capacity and it will be noted that two teachers have been engaged to handle the overflow in sept it is common knowledge that our appeal for an addition to the m z ben nett public school was not ap proved when presented bufras ever so houses are in the pro cess of construction the board will submit presentation for ad ditional accommodation in due course public school own home economics and shop classrooms and we will share with them the teachers as afore mentioned the close of this school year concludes a very happy satisfactory arrange ment whereby we have shared our home economics and shop with nassagaweya for years and with esquesing public school board for one year a library has been established at the ro bert little public school and the department of education is urg ing that libraries be established in all schools we have renew ed the classrooms in the stone school and will debat the stone school attic and insulate same this july may we again opinion of the com mission that acton is a desira ble location for industry in addition to the industrial land to the north of acton the commission has other areas available for development as well as some building space available in the acton indus trial centre the former wool combing building one major drawback for pros pective industry in this area the shortage of labor is being rectified by a large increase in residential building like any board however the development commission feels the onus for propogating the advantage of the town shouldnt be limited to the men on the committee they urge actonians to get out and boast the town to others members of the commission would be glad to lend any as sistance to present or future in dustry to enlarge or establish in the town of acton beardmore co limited tanners since 1644
