mr andrews has junior boys basketball is also in a rebulding stage unlike coach mccallums seniors pat sullivan has one returnee he is presently busy holding clinics for hopeful cagers at the intramural level it is hoped that a full program can be introduced the gaa had a good program last year and plans lor uus year axe even bet ter softball has already been added to this program concerning the boys intro- mural crosscountry ind basket ball are now being organized the crosscountry team is also sponsoring an imitational golf tournament on the back campus for early in october the cheerleaders are also quite busy preparing for the up coming season most of the girls are back again to add a little beauty and noise to the scene all in all department head ronmccallum is looking forward to a very active year in the phy sical education department hoed up a series of crosscoun try meets involving at least seven other schools acton also won the cwos satb trackand field champ ionship last spring by outpoint ing 25 other high schools the school will defend their title next spring at the district level acton senior redmen went to the cw ossa finals in basketball last year the team has a nucleus of five dots from last years team under miss atkey toe girls senior volleyball and basketball teams von their district titles last year and went on to the cw03sa playdowns the boys and girls curling teams also under miss atkey won district honours last year most of the curlers are back to defend their titles at the present time two coach es art preparing for the opening game in their respective sport jim holmes is busy with the soccer team the club not only has turn uniforms this year but also has new players from the senior grades this team just might go all the way
