this particular nelsons monument is unique we all know that the clergy mans son who became as great a genius in naval affairs as nap oleon was in things military namely horatio nelson viscount admiral of the fleet duke of bronte and palermo has had no lack of honors or effigies either during his lifetime or after his dramatic death at trafalgar but the unique quality of the mem orial being unveiled at 2050 guelph line burlington on son- day afternoon october 22 at three oclock arises from the fact that it has been raised not to honor any particular individ ual but as a tribute to a depart ed municipal entity i- the town ship of nelson which la 195s became part of the tom of bur lington the burlington historical soc iety is sponsoring nelsons monument to commemorate and honor a whole multitude of john q citizens pioneers and their descendants the scions if you like of a whole forest of family trees in recognition and thanks for the uvea and work of these stalwarts and others who
