to the st law rence starch company tie april meeting will be held at the home of mrs g wallace and will include annual reports and a contest for a lemon cheese cake at the close of the meeting the convened a hospitality corner serving tea and cookies as a centennial gesture mem bers a centennial costume took part m the talr parade with assistance from be rot- i arians of acton christmas ham- pars ware prepared for the needy farolues in the- vicinity a bake sale was boldln february in april a very successful centen nial tea was held at the home of mrs marguerite taylor with overl7sattending family heir looms antique dolls and china and many interesting articles were on display the members assisted at the blood cunlc the cancer drive and the c n l b canvass throughout the year we bad a most successful sale of centen nial and canadian spoons again we had many entries in the local fall fair which helped boost our funds our annual november bazaar wagthe most successful in a number of years a canadian flag and framed picture of the queen- werfcre- sented to our new library and two flags were donated to rob ert urie school rjngs- were awarded to the high school boy 4h homefnakers complete project the acton 4h homemakers completed their project featur ing fruit march 2 at this meeting plans were discussed for our afternoon tea and a trip to college royal on saturday march 11 mrs lynch and mrs macnaughton took our group to college royal in guelph of most interest was the fashion show where we saw everything from sleepwear to bridal dresses the tea will be a summing- up party for the group it is to be held on march zl at the home of shirley savers each mem ber will bring a fruit bread- cookle or square which they made themselves to be served with fruit drinks tea or coffee around three oclock mr hln- ton will present the mh hlnton challenge trophy which we won judith anne leslie daughter of brigadiers mr and mrs les lie of north toronto corps of the salvation army was married to cpl gordon allan cripps rc asc son of mr and mrs jc cripps r k 2 acton the wed ding took place at the barrio chapel of the salvation army on february 6 the bride is employed as a federal government auditor at army bases the groom is presently stationed it camppet- awawa tiny are living at pem broke at the pall fair last year the display was entitled treasure trove our 4h record books will also be on display for the parents and other guests to look through this club was worthwhlletoall of us we enjoyed working with our leaders and the other girls and feel that we have accomplish ed a lot making frultbreads cheese trays and table arrange ments are only a few of the many things the club girls have learned and girl with the highest stand ing in middle sod music festi val decoration day committee canadian legion poppy fund and a remembrance day wreath the sick ware remembered with cards and flowers were sent to bereaved purine the christmas season
