vancouver b c a sister miss frances kenney predeceased him he was the son of the late william robert and matilda ken ney of acton and was marrtadln 1942 the kenney family has been associated with to western canada where he worked first on a survey gang and later on a farm it was on the farm he decided to become a veterinary surgeon and be returned to the east to enroll in the veterinary college which was then in toronto he was in the last year of his course when world war one broke out in 1914 and he enlisted imroed- lately he was posted to egypt as a captain in the veterinary corps of the imperial army and served in the middle east for five years returning to canada uue in 1913 it was then that he said to a friend i know now thai i want to be a medical doctor ibavemade up my practice in newmarket later at bracebrldge he went almost with out sleep for weeks during an epidemic of polio in the thirties he endured a spell of insecure health for three years at his home in acton re gaining stength he began his practice here in 1941 he was medical officer of health for several years his unselfish devotion and ministration to the citizens of acton and district
