the smaller communities in egards to having insufficent players to form their own league and pro viding competition for boys who have a keen desire to play soc cer it is hoped by the fall some type of competition will he established to till the void that is presently enisling in the interim we are currently engaged in a series of exhibition games or frlendlles as known in soccer parlance and as re ported in our soccer scores our boys are more than holding their own their enthusiasm and ability is gradually bringing smiles to the faces of the coaches who were frustrated a few short months ago when minor soccer was in its infancy but with per severance and i gnil deal of patience the message is starting to get through thev still have a long haul ahead but may we wish them every success in saturday morning july 20 1968 j about eight minutes of play chris tennant scored for acton on a nice play kicking in the first goal after this goal was scored acton kept the play pretty well in the milton tone for quite a few minutes the milton goal keeper kicked the ball out of his end and nathan field intercepted the ball and shot it hack in for actons second goal a real effort by nathan larry qulnn the captain is playing a very strong game covering up as well as playing hie position real well acton had a penalty idck and the bov who tried it chris ten nant lust missed the corner by inches half time score acton 3 ullton 0 the milton boys kicked off to start the second half and in less than three minutes nat fields passed to mike luty and he made no mistake scoring actons third goal the mlltonteam gave our acton boys a few minutes of anxiety from a corner idck and had our boys in trouble but they held their own without a score against them ullton has a very good team for a first year club their passing plays are very nice to watch must be good coaching larry qulnn accepted a pass kist to the left of ullton goal and be was just off by about a foot milton pressed again and greg goal was scored acton seemed to sharpen up on their combination and team play holding the play in georgetown end but the georgetown defence played very strong soccer to keep air boys from scoring
