came to canada john was 7 and not long after arriving in aclon he joined wolf cubs later moving up into scouting and more recently becoming a venturer at the jamboree johns bunking down in a tenl with ihe georgetown district and north peel scouts where he eats sleeps cooks cleans up swaps badges and enjoys each funfilled day his subcamp companions all live in georgetown glen williams dulton bramalea and brampton but neighbors at the camp represent scouting districts across ontario several united states and four foreign countries so there is plenty of opportunity for a boy like john to meet new friends one highlight of his week was a trip tuesday to see ihe lakeview generating station and tour the cne in toronto johns also working toward his achievement award which will add another badge to his growing collection as a reward for joining in as many camp activities and sports programs as possible venturers noose commencing in september a higher level of scouting will begin this is ihe first time it has been introduced in acton and will provide fun and adventure all boys between the ages of fourteen to eighteen who are interested in entering this new experience registration will lieutenantgovernor who is also patron of scouting in the province of ontario was brought onto the stage with his aidedecamp to the martial muiic of ihe burlington marching band major steven foxrivett the aidedecamp is also a scout venturer advisor mr macdonald recalled he was bom before the boy scout movement was introduced to canada but he served as a scooter in brant ford and looks back fondly on his active involvement in ihe organization after welcoming the scouts from all over the world to the jamboree he praised their leaders for the job they are doing and the organizers of the jamboree for its success since most of the scouts at the site will become car drivers shortly the dignitary expressed hopes they will lake to the highways in a safe manner he noted their presence will put an
