plaque around deplores mess dear sir i wish you would send a photographer to lake a picture of the disgusting stale of churchill rd south opposite the new apartment buildings what with empty cement bags brown paper empty oil cans polythene sheeting and hlcfally dozens of empty paper cups the area looks more like a garbage dump than does the official town dump my wife phoned tlie mayor on friday evening and complained of tlie mess he came down to inspect it but nothing hasbeen done surely there is tylsw covering tlie dumping of garbage on public thoroughfaresif not there should be ah of this meu comes from the building site with the exception of the paper cups the contents of which are consumed while standing around a refreshment wagon the cups are then thrown into the nearest ditch we in the churchill longield area try to keep our properties in good order often at considerable expense and with great deal of hard work yet the council seems intent on allowing tlie turrounding area to look like a slum presumably no member of council has the intestinal fortitude to tackle the apartment contractors and order them to tidy up the area outside the building site nobody dares lay a thing to the people with money meanwhile we have to view this shambles while the contractors and their workmen daoy add to the garbage on the sideof the toad peehaps a picture in your excellent paper would
