first prize in class c at toronto exhibition their wives and sweethearts were ehtcrtamed to a euchre luncheon and dance by the business mens association the hall was prettily decorated tor the occasion and the early part of the evening was spent in progressive ere this was followed by a de licious luncheon provided by catqrer w h long and served by members of the association after all had partaken president o r muckart conveyed congratulations of the business men to the members of the band for their splendid record at the exhibition and the honor they had brought to our town it was a pleasure for the association to have them and their wives as guests of the evening and express- in a small way their appreciation of the service the band was rendering the town and- community he then called on mayor mackensle the mayor extended congratulations and spoke briefly regarding tbje great achievement of the band and trie won derful benefit and pleasure derlveo by the community from having such a musical organization he had great pleasure on behalf of the citizens and council in presenting he band with a cheque for 100 as a slight recognition i from the town president herbert of
