meoannah passed away on thursday last june and his 81st year deceased had been resident here for many years and was station agent on the old hamilton north western railway and later oc cupied the same all present aotjrjurned to the sunday school room for refreshments a delightful lunch was served by the lady teachers under the supervision of mlas annie thompson the superin tendent mr fred mcnauy called the gathering to order and announced that he had a very pleasant duty to per form he called on the rev w g o thompson to present mr and mrs lions club news the lions club of georgetown held their regular fortnightly meeting at the georgetown inn on monday even ing about eighty per cent of the membershhy were present the dinner was splendid after the wast to the king presi dent peller called anon lion rev bui thompson to do his duty lion tnampson on behalf of the george town lions club then presented white canes to three blind ciusens of our community as a token of the respect felt toward them by their fellow citi zens lion bill grant introduced to tne club mr blaster and lion bill long mtroduced messrs coo and ellington these gentlemen responded to the in troduction and thanked the lions club lor the gifts and expressed the wish that other clubs would do the same to help the blin4in other communities the white cane is fast becoming tosen of their appreciation of her the
